Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Launceston, Tasmania

Position Type: Multiple positions available - permanent, full time shift worker, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (pro rata) + employer 12% superannuation contribution. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Visa sponsorship and relocation support available for eligible UK/IE candidates.

The Position

  • Provide expert, patient-centred nursing care in a high-pressure Emergency Department setting.
  • Deliver advanced clinical care for critically ill or injured patients, including trauma, cardiac, and paediatric emergencies.
  • Safely manage deteriorating patients with prompt interventions.
  • Collaborate with the care team for comprehensive critical care management.
  • Manage multiple patient presentations simultaneously in a dynamic and unpredictable environment.

The Team

The Emergency Department team at Launceston General Hospital (LGH), as part of the Department of Health Tasmania, consists of highly skilled emergency physicians, nurses, paramedics, and support staff who collaborate to provide urgent and life-saving care to the community. The team utilises advanced medical protocols to assess, stabilise, and treat patients with acute conditions, ranging from trauma to medical emergencies. Working closely with other departments and community health services, they ensure timely escalation and transfer of critical patients to appropriate care levels. Through their commitment to rapid response and high-quality care, the team plays a crucial role in safeguarding the health and well-being of Tasmanians.

You Will Need

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as an RN in an Emergency Department.
