An Northern TAS hospital requires a Registered Nurse/RN in Mental Health from 30/03/2026 to 20/06/2026.
Brief Role Description
As part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Statewide Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, the Registered Nurse will:
• In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluate patient/client care.
• Practice in accordance with the NMBA codes and guidelines for registered nurses and midwives.
• Involve patients/clients and their families/significant others in the planning and implementation of care.
• Contribute to the maintenance and promotion of a safe work environment.
• Understand and adhere to relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and objective documentation.
• The agency nurse can expect to work as ‘Nurse in Charge’ to fulfil roster requirements.
• The agency nurse can expect to carry out any other duties which are in line with scope and classification level of this role.
Essential Requirements
• Experience in high dependency and acute settings, preferably with senior nurse/in charge experience.
• Mental Health nursing experience and Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• The agency nurse WILL BE required to complete ‘in-charge’ shifts to fulfil the service area roster needs.
