An Metropolitan TAS hospital requires a Registered Nurse/RN in Mental Health from 02/03/2026 to 10/04/2026.
Brief Role Description
• The agency nurse will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the National Standards for Mental Health Services, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies, within the defined area of practice and will provide responsive community-based mental health care to consumers, which includes triage, comprehensive mental health assessments, assertive, short-term care coordination, safety planning, ongoing psychotherapeutic work using arrange of modalities and techniques, transfer of care / discharge planning, in collaboration with consumers, families and friends, within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT).
• Act as a clinical resource for nursing, medical and allied health staff in the management of consumers with complex mental health needs, working with other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care within the designated are of practice.
• Provide case management to a designated number of consumers with complex needs, including carer education and consultation and collaboration with GP’s, other service providers and significant others in provision of care.
• Undertake the provision of recovery focused specialised mental health assessments and assertive case management, using recognised assessment methods and evidence-based interventions for clients in the community setting.
Key responsibilities:
• Agency nurse will be responsible for managing a patient case load.
• Agency nurse will participate in the duty roster.
• Agency nurse will provide assertive care co-ordination.
• Agency nurse will be an active team player with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
The agency nurse can expect to carry out any other duties which are in line with scope and classification level of this role.
