- You will be working in a the Child and Adolescent Unit at Mackay Base Hospital
The Child and Adolescent Unit comprises of a 12-bed inpatient paediatric ward, paediatric outpatient clinic and paediatric ambulatory care unit. The Ambulatory Care Unit comprises Diabetes Educator Clinical Nurse, Chronic Illness Clinical Nurse and Paediatric Outreach Clinical Nurse, also Clinical Nurse Consultant Paediatric Haematology/Oncology Case Manager. The Child & Adolescent Unit caters for children with medical, surgical, orthopaedic, mental health and oncology conditions from 3 days to 17 years. This Unit liaises closely with the district rural facilities, acting as the referral centre for their patients and has tertiary referral to Townsville, Queensland Children’s Hospital and Mater Children’s Hospitals in Brisbane.

Skills/Experience
Mandatory Experience:
- Experience working with children and adolescents
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of CIMHA database
- Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using this system
- Previous experience working in Australia, QLD Health and/or Mackay HHS
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act 2016
