PERMANENT Registered Midwife Level 2 - Maternity

Seeking Registered Midwife’s to work across their full scope of practice in the following areas:
- Antenatal
- Postnatal
- Birthing
- Continuity (CBR Midwives Program)
- Maternity and Gynaecology Outpatients
The Position
- Demonstrate clinical leadership and expertise in a chosen area of maternity including antenatal, intrapartum, or postnatal care
- Co-ordinate and provide advanced midwifery care to women in antenatal, postnatal, and birthing settings in accordance with Policies and Procedures, National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral and relevant legislation
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team approach, including patient flow services, to facilitate timely, coordinated, and appropriate care of a high standard according to evidence based practice. This includes providing a supportive educational environment to enable women and their families to make informed choices about their care
- In consultation with the Clinical Midwifery Manager, demonstrate responsibility for human and material resources to facilitate the delivery of a safe standard of care for all consumers
- Participate in the development and review of policy, procedures, quality activities and clinical meetings to build an environment of excellence in midwifery care
Health Service
This is a Level 6 Tertiary Centre providing specialised maternity, neonatology and paediatric services for the ACT and surrounding regional areas to approximately 3800 women per year. Offering antenatal, birthing, and postnatal services under various models of care aimed at providing woman and family centred care. Maternity care options include midwifery led continuity of care models, midwifery led care, and maternity team care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team as required.

Essential Criteria
- Relevant midwifery and/or nursing qualifications and a minimum of four years’ experience working professionally in midwifery or hold a post grad qualification
- Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- The successful applicant will need to be available for rotational shift work roster which includes weekends, night duty and public holidays.
