We are currently seeking a dedicated individual with expertise in Mental Health and Esketamine administration to join an esteemed healthcare team. This role is for 2 days a week.
The Position
As the Registered Nurse you will be responsible for:
- Adhering to all S8 medication compliance requirements
- Preparing the Esketamine administration device for patients and ensure proper instructions for self- administration
- Monitor and guide patients in administering their own dose
- Monitor patients' blood pressure throughout the post-administration period
- Observe for the development of hypertensive crisis and assess patients for significant sedation or psychological effects for at least two hours after administration
- Serve as a vital member of the multidisciplinary mental health treatment team in the mental health clinic
- Provide comprehensive coordination of care for patients, utilising specialised nursing skills and knowledge in a relatively independent fashion
- Act as a liaison between the patient and the treating team, facilitating communication and collaboration among various healthcare providers
- Conduct mental health assessments and provide treatment to patients with acute, severe chronic psychiatric disorders
- Recognise immediate safety issues, assess risk for suicide, and provide crisis interventions, including the development of a suicide safety plan and appropriate follow-up
- Plan, manage, and monitor mental health symptoms, applying knowledge of medical and psychiatric illness and its potential impact on mental status and overall psychological functioning
- Communicate effectively with a variety of clinicians, including psychiatrists, psychologists, case workers, nurse practitioners, and other providers in mental health and primary care

Essential Criteria
- AHPRA registration
- Experience in Mental Health Nursing
- Experience in administering Esketamine and monitoring patients post-administration
- Familiarity with a variety of treatments for depression, anxiety, and PTSD
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
